Lately, I’ve been fascinated by the innovation tool of design thinking. It’s a nonlinear problem-solving methodology with a few simple elements: get curious, talk to people, try stuff. I teamed up with The Bubble to produce SPARK: a video mini-series featuring tech entrepreneurs in Argentina’s capital. The series aimed to highlight the city’s burgeoning startup culture. In collaboration with the producer, I saw this project through from conceptualization to final edits. My personal highlight was sitting down with the city’s innovators to learn about their inspirations and ideas for what’s next. Below is our premiere episode.

While working for a newspaper in the San Francisco Bay Area, I managed the health and business sections. I wrote about both subjects, as well as local politics. My favorite stories, like this health feature, covered people who created or utilized innovative technologies.

I got my start in journalism at a community newspaper in the Sierra Nevada foothills. During my two years on staff, I covered local politics, education and lifestyle. A career highlight remains interviewing and writing about a real-life Rosie the Riveter.
