Video: Mural in Action

I traveled to Mexico for Día de Muertos and followed the artistic journey of Sasha Primo, a muralist from Buenos Aires, Argentina. As part of the Zaanarte mural festival, Primo painted a wall between an open-air food market and the town cemetery. In this video, he explains his artistic process, as well as his personal reflections on the spirited Mexican holiday of Día de Muertos.

Video: Cultural Project

This video covers a cultural project completed by Movement of Urban Transformation & Art (MUTA) and Una Mano Para Oaxaca together with the community of Ixtaltepec, Mexico, in November 2019. A member of the MUTA creative collective, I visited Ixtaltepec in order to become acquainted with its cultural influencers and produce this video about our public art project — designed to return color to the streets of Ixtaltepec. In 2017 Ixtaltepec suffered a devastating earthquake that leveled nearly 80 percent of the town. As part of my role as Communications Manager for MUTA creative collective, I interviewed and wrote about a cultural activator in Quito, Ecuador. The article was published in La La Lista. Ana Benalcazar runs Experiencias Urbanas, a small nonprofit that provides architectural interventions in vulnerable neighborhoods in Ecuador.

As the Communications Manager for the creative collective MUTA, I wrote and published a handful of articles about our projects and members. For this piece, I interviewed Flor Savarino in Spanish then translated our discussion to English for publication.
